The Interfraternity Council is the representative government for the 10 current chapters at Western Michigan University. Our purpose is to represent the various sentiments and concerns of the fraternity community to the University, its administration, and the general WMU/Kalamazoo community while striving to promote a positive Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) image. We regulate the affairs of IFC chapters, support them, educate them and advise them, so as to strengthen relations amongst the chapters themselves, between the FSL community and Western Michigan University to aid in the development of each individual member to his highest potential.
Our Mission
In order to fully promote the best interest of Western Michigan University and the Greek letter social fraternities therein, to encourage the most complete intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development of the members of the fraternities, to ensure that all fraternities chartered at Western Michigan University establish high standards and ambitious pursuits, and to conduct cooperation and responsibility among said fraternities, and the University community, we do ordain and establish this constitution of the Interfraternity Council of Western Michigan University. The Interfraternity Council does not discriminate on the basis of age, color, race, national or ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, or disability but rather promotes unified, progressive, diverse, and mutual respect for all.
